Music In Worship
The Music Ministry at NSPCDawn Stevens, Director of Music
"Praise the Lord!Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise him in his mighty firmament! Praise Him for His mighty deeds;
Praise Him according to His surpassing greatness! Praise Him with trumpet sound; Praise Him with lute and harp! Praise Him with tambourine and dance;
Praise Him with strings and pipe! Praise Him with clanging cymbals; Praise Him with loud clashing cymbals! Let everything that breathes praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord!" -Psalm 150
Music is a vital and integral component in the worshipping life of the Newtown Square Presbyterian Church. It is both a gift from God as well as an offering to God
that has the power to call us to and engage us in worship. By reinforcing the Word, music inspires our faith. It is this expression of faith that reminds us of God’s
continual presence in our daily lives. Through the efforts of the Adult Choir, Handbell Choir, Junior Choir and NSPC Quartet, music is a continual and inspirational
presence in our worship service.
"Music is a fair and glorious gift of God – I am strongly persuaded that after theology there is no art that can be placed on a level with music."
Martin Luther
