Dawn C.
Stevens
Dawn Stevens has been a
performer and church musician in the Delaware Valley for over 25 years. She
received her Bachelor of Music in Performance from Northwestern University,
studying piano with Maryanne Rietz, Gui Mombaerts and Donald Isaak and organ
with Walter Peterson, Mary Jane Holstein and Timothy Nelson. Specialized studies
include accompanying with pianist Lawrence Davis, Bach interpretation with
organist Wolfgang Rübsam and Baroque ornamentation with Julianne Baird. She has
performed throughout the Delaware Valley as a pianist and organist and is a
frequent collaborative recitalist.
Previously, Dawn has held church posts throughout Pennsylvania including ten
years as Director of Music at Willistown United Methodist Church, Newtown
Square, PA. For the past several years, she has been the Director of Music at
NSPC where she serves as Organist and Director of the Chancel Choir, Handbell
Choir and NSPC Quartet. She also supervises Junior Choir activities under the
direction of Jackie Dunleavy Boyle and coordinates the use of special
instrumentalists and vocalists throughout the year.
Dawn is a member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) and its local
affiliate (DSMTA) as well as the American Guild of Organist (AGO). She is a
Master Faculty Member at The Wilmington Music School where she serves as the
Piano Department Head.
